Pannon Philharmonic

The Symphonic Orchestra of Pécs, now called Pannon Filharmonikusok founded in 1811 and institutionalized in 1984 has been a key representative of the musical culture of the Transdanube region of Hungary for 200 years. The institution has been renewed in 2003 and aims at creating high quality, interesting and innovative classical music productions. 

In 2003 the orchestra sets the goal of a professional renewal and by 2010 it became one of the leading musical orchestras of Hungary. With its a lot of unique concerts and its wide program structure satisfying all age groups. It is an exceptionally important artistic institution of the South-western region of Hungary. It is regularly invited to many important and renowned Hungarian festivals also in Pécs but all around the Country and the World. 

The Pannon Philharmonic's clubhouse and fitting room are in the Kodály Centre.

Kodály Centre

Kodály Centre is the result of one of the most important and the most spectacular investment of Pécs in 2010 when our city was the European Capital of Culture. After the opening the concert hall almost immediately became one of the best and increasingly recognized music place of Hungary and Europe. Virtually every artist who has performanced here since, including Zoltán Kocsis, Al di Meola and the Kronos Quartet.

The permanent resident orchestra of Kodály Centre is the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra of European fame. Consedering only the musical aspects: acoustic design, 21th century technology, multifunctional nature of the building, classical and pop music programs. Others like ballet and choreographed performances as well as operas featuring scenic elements.
